It's more of what we all like - darkspawn slaying!

Ahh, Dragon Age. So much action, so much silence from your character.

Awakening serves up more of the action that made the main game good, with a few improvements (stamina potions for us non-mage types!). If you're expecting huge gameplay or interface changes, you aren't getting them - this is an expansion that's all about plot and action rather than any technical leaps forward.

But that's not a bad thing. DA works. Awakening gives the game a bit of a refresh and a restart without having to plough through the same plot again (I admit I only went through DA once) and is an obvious time to try a different class (Sure, you can continue your old character, but new is good!).

The path-finding somehow seems worse in this (two NPCs getting trapped on each other in a doorway, for example), but glitches like these are rare and relatively minor.

I think the bottom line is this: If Dragon Age left you wanting more of the Grey Wardens, get this and you'll be happy. If you're content with Dragon Age and you're waiting for a Mass Effect 2 style revolution, you may want to wait or give this a miss.
