Great Game Severely Underated Missing Certain Elements

User Rating: 9 | Dragon Ball: Raging Blast X360
Like every other Dragon Ball Tenkaichi game, the aim is to beat crap outta your opponent using combo's of punches and kicks, Super Attacks like Kamehameha's and Gallick Guns, and using Ultimate Attacks like Spirit Bombs and Final Flash. But along with the similarities of normal DB games, Raging Blast has a few differences that make it unique.

The immediate thing you will notice is that the way the camera works is very different, instead of you being on one side and your opponent being on the other, you are positioned in 3rd person behind your character. Now at 1st i did not like this but once you get used to it you will most likely not want to go back! I feel it is more fluent this way and i hope the next Dragon Ball game includes this element. Although sometimes if your hugging a wall you will not be able to see what's happening which is very frustrating. Hopefully they will fix this for the next game.

The graphics have been improved greatly. Actions are much more fluent and reactions seem better. But i prefer the beams in the older games.

The story is much longer in Raging Blast taking you through the Saiyan Saga, the Frieza Saga, the Androids Saga (Cell Saga), the Legendary Super Saiyan Saga, the Bardock Saga, the Buu saga and also a What-if? saga which portrays battles that never happened but would be interesting to see. Sadly the flying around that was in Budokai 3 is scrapped and you choose battles from a list. You can earn Stars by completing certain challenges in a battle, you use these stars to purchase outfits, in game music, hidden dialogues, unlocking battles and more.

There are also modes such as VS, the Dojo where you learn the controls, Xbox live where you can earn titles and grades by battling in ranked matches and fighting friends, and Suoer Battle Trial where there are minigames and different fighting modes where the dragon balls can be collected to summon Shenron to make a wish.

The only thing about gripe i have about this game is that it should have had all the characters that were in Budokai 3. Raging Blast only features characters from DBZ, none from Original Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball GT. Also for some reason Ultimate Gohan is missing from the roster which is weird. The absence of Super Saiyan 4 annoyed me but you may not be bothered.

Also for you guys who prefer the Japanese voices of DragonBall Z, there is an option to change the voices :)

I recommend this game to all fans of fighting games and DBZ. Reviews from everywhere seem to really underrate this game for some reason, DO NOT believe them, this game is really fun and i highly recommend it.

Thanks for reading my review, i hope it helped you on your decision :)
