Dragonball Z: Budokai 3 is obviously the best in the Budokai series. I own all of the three games in the series and going back and playing its predicessors shows the obvious improvements. The gameplay has almost completely removed any flaws. The game has added the ability to dodge attacks which allows for a huge variety of defensive combos rather than sidestepping or teleporting. The graphics have been refined to a end up with a great combination of cell shade and computer generated images to give a spectacular visual presentation. The sound has been refined and made more crisp.
Budokai has finally perfected the search for the dragonballs. No longer do we have to spend hours upon end go in and out of the store, but we can actually search for them with a dragon radar. You can find all 7 dragonballs within a 30 minute period.
The character system is level based. You can unlock a system that allows you to level up all the characters. Putting a level one character against a level 99 (max) truly shows the difference in power level (its really hilarious). They have a password system, but I've never gotten it to work.
The story mode is an indepth one. The game systems allows you to unlock additional difficulties to increase the challenge of story mode. The verses mode is great. You truly can test you opponents metal and push yourself to your limits.
I'd recommend this game to any fan of dragonball z or anyone who is interested in becoming one.
