Excellent fighter, for non-DBZ and DBZ fans alike.

User Rating: 9.3 | Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 PS2
This is the best Dragonball Z game to date, in my opinion. It also appears to represent the anime better than other DBZ games. The gameplay here is well done. The controls may take time to learn, but it's like riding a bike: You never forget. We all remember how we had to use our three fingers to press the buttons to transform....that was an awkward position. Budokai 3 introduces "shortcuts." For example, to transform, you can simply press R1. This is a massive improvement, and takes away the awkwardness that Budokai 2 had. The graphics are excellent. The characters and fight scenes look as if they came right out of the anime, and cel shading has been pushed to the limit and beyond. This is the result, and it looks very good. The sound voiceovers are decent, although some may be awkward. The sounds of attacks (charging Kamehameha or delivering a kick to the opponent) adds much to the gameplay factor. There is a good variety of sounds for everything: attacking, being attacked, energy beams, and just plain ambient sounds. Some people may not like the background music, but it fits the mood of the game (intense, fast-paced, etc). This game is an absolute MUST for any Dragonball Z fan, and is definitely worthing picking up for non-DBZ fans.
