Dragon ball Z is back in another adventure is it not all that bad

User Rating: 8.3 | Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 PS2
One year after Tenkaichi, Bandai Namco being backs the series with Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 remains faithful to the DBZ series and with new twist to keep the game fresh.

Game play Story mode, this time, the story mode is called dragon adventure. This mode takes you though any saga in DBZ. You choose the saga and game level and just go from there. If you played Dragon ball Z budokai 3 then this mode will be familiar to you. You fly around looking for item and story point to advance the story. The difference between this and budokai 3 is that now there are now cut scenes to help advance the story. A huge and welcome edition to this mode is that you can play though every single DBZ saga, almost all DBZ movie and All DBGT saga. It starts at the Saiyan saga from the beginning of DBZ and end at the Shadow dragon saga at the end of GT. The two bad thing about this is first, they did not add any DB saga and second, the story mode is almost too long to the point where it like forcing you to play though it. Expect for that, the story mode is great.

Tournament mode, it just a simple tournament up to eight people can play in this mode and if you win and playing by yourself, you get money to spend at the shop. That all about this mode

VS mode, you can choose between one on one, two on two, or five on five, which is cool if you want a long battle. You can choose between 120 characters but really, they count different form as a different character. Good if you just want to take a break from the story mode

Data center, if you want to learn about DBZ, use this mode, it has everything you need. The game play is really good and there is a lot of stuff to do in this game to keep it from getting boring

Control The camera has been fix, now we can see. The R3 button is used in with the D pad to use a transformation. Expect for that, the control have not gotten worse than part one.

Sound Sadly, the American version does not feature the same sound track as the Japanese version. Now they use original music instead of the older budokai. You also get to choose which music you want before the fight, which is cool. The sound effects in the game are the same ones that you would hear from the anime, with each blast fitted with its sound. Overall, the sound is good, just not having the Japanese sound track is bad.

Graphic The graphic for this game look just like the anime. The intro is in CG. The ki attack look a lot better than in the first game, and the aura looks great. Overall here, the graphics are great for a ps2 game.

Overall
This game is a must have for any DBZ fan; even the casual gamer will have fun with this game.
