Finally, Atari did it! An excellent Dragonball Z game!
Controls 9/10
Motion sensitive Kamehameha waves! What more can I say? I'll explain how you fight. You hold down the directional button on the WiiMote to power up your power meter. Once you've reached a certain amount of power you can peform a special attack. For an example ill take Goku's special attacks... First you power up, then you hold down Left on the D-Pad, now with the Wii-mote and nunchuck you do the motions of a Kamehameha wave and Goku will perform it. As for Goku's Spirit bomb you hold down down on the D-pad and raise the Wii-mote and nun-cruck as if you performing a spirit bomb to throw it. And when two Z fighter's beams connect you have to shake the Wiimote and nunchuck as fast as you can to determine which blast wins. Cool Eh?
Gameplay 9/10
Each character has their own unique abilities and there are around 150 characters. There is a story mode which bring you through the sagas and main battles of the Dragonball Z series. You also get to be the bad-guys sometimes, which fun for a change.
Online play is also pretty solid, the only problem I had with it was if I was playing someone with a slow internet connection it would make the fight really slow... This game has a lot of modes which will give you many hours of fun to be had. Overall this is a really fun game and worth buying.
Graphics 9/10
Excellent looking cell-shaded anime looking characters. The backgrounds and levels look excellent as well as smash able buildings and environments. All visual aspects stay true the the Dragonball series and surpassed my expectations of a Dragonball game.
Sound 10/10
The voice overs are most of the original voices from the Dragonball series!!!
This adds huge character to the gameplay. When I played the story mode I felt like I was watching the show over again. As for the Music... Its old-school cheesy 80s rock which is awesome!
