This game is awesome, with the fighting system ruling over the fighting system of Budokai 3...

User Rating: 9.3 | Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi PS2
Well, this game is not much of a sequel due to the fact that companies have changed in the making. Instead of sticking to Dimps, Atari gracefully handed the Budokai license to Spike in hopes that they will create a better game. They believed by switching to a company popular for fighting games, they will create the best DBZ game possible.

Budokai Tenkaichi wasn't bad. However, the fighting system tops that of Budokai 3 anyday. The way the story was told also tops that of all 3 Budokai games. There was only one minor flaw with the game: In multiplayer mode, the way the screen was divided was really irritating.

Some noticeable enhancements from the previous games was definately the graphics, gameplay, and the entire visual presentation of the game. The game is Sparking!! with excitement, following its Japanese name. There's no noticeable improvements in sound, and not all DBZ characters were played by the original voice actors of the series. The AI in this game is pretty good too. There are 3 difficulty levels. "Easy mode" is already harder than "Normal Mode" in Budokai 3, and Normal Mode is harder than Z1 difficulty in Budokai 3. Not to mention, it's nearly impossible to beat any major bosses with "Hard mode" in this game.

Graphics:
Characters are given a more stunning appeal, and the effects are greatly enhanced. Each fighting arena looks awesome, and following that, the visual presentations (menus) were awesome looking. However, during gameplay, when your camera is zoomed in towards a couple of weeds or leaves in the arena, you can see that they are pixelated and contributes to the "ugly" factor of Tenkaichi's graphics. Thus, 9.5/10

Gameplay:
Gameplay is ok, however it can be improved. With its gameplay already surpassing that of Budokai 3, the gameplay is still "choppy". Fights are noticeably slower than that of Budokai 3, however the fun factor triumphs over the fun factor that Budokai 3 possess. Each stage means more fun! Especially the World Tournament Stage in which "Ring Outs" are definately more effective than the previous 3 budokais. 9/10

Sound:
Not much difference in sound, however there are a couple of new songs added to the original Budokai Soundtrack. Character voices are not true to the show because most characters are played by different voice actors (Not main characters of course) than the show. 7/10

Value:
Definately worth your time and money. If you're a fan of Dragon Ball Z/GT then you'll find the story mode very addicting. 9.4/10

Presentation:
I am a fan to the presentation of this game. The visuals are fantastic, and you can also choose original Japanese voices over the dubbed English voice-overs. 9.9/10

Overall:
9.4/10: This game is awesome! Even though I gave it an identical mark to the mark I gave Budokai 3, this game is definately more fun, and more challenging too.
