Budakai 3 was intensely good and you would expect this one to be just as good if not better, but sadly if you thought this like I did you couldn't be more wrong.

The main thing that brought this game down was the complete change of game play. I could understand a slight change to add flight but everything you have ever done in the other 3 games means nothing. The tag line "the other games were just training" is misleading because nothing you did in those games as far as controls are concerned is in here.

Battle gate mode is a step backwards from the Dragon universe mode in budakai three but not so much disappointing.

Most of all the game is just too hard for this control type if you were able to use the control type from buddkai 3 you'd have a perfect an 8.0 game right here.

The battle gate mission are more often then not set up so you will lose no matter what you do (well the survive until your time runs out missions).
I have seen every episode of dragonballz and I know for a fact that krillen will die if he fights form 2 frieza but making it almost imposable to survive is unfair and this mainly because of the lock on system.

The problem with lock on is that you can't turn it off and the bigger the enemy the less likely you are to get away because you are locked on against you will.

Example: In the fight against ape vegeta there is no where to run or hide in the 60 sec window they give you the only option is to fire a kamehameha at the start of the fight to blast him back long enough so you can dash away. being as though that is the only type of move that will stop an ape full frontal assault, the other is the ki push in the middle of a combo, But because of the pause required to do this you will get hit(ungodly hard) and lose soon after. The ape’s size keeps you from being able to run because you will only end up side stepping until you get lucky or you get hit.

The power difference during most of these "your going to die if you try missions" I so huge by the time you get to the frieza saga that it will take 30 mins or more to get past one of them. They are faster and stronger then you and will kill in less then 30seconds.

because you are fighting a computer it will let off powerful moves faster then should be allowed since no matter how fast your thumbs are you will not be able to do the same, this is because the controls fail to respond as fast as you think and press. I think and press fast then most games I play and find I have to slow down so the controller can keep up( budakai 3 responded at just the right speed and I rarely complained until Omega shenron shall he burn in HFIL). The computer has an unfair advantage because this.

The game is worth owning if you are indeed a fan of dbz (I find my fan loyalty slowly slipping away because of this game). The 7.0 given from gamespot is on the spot as far as I’m concerned.

I honestly should have waited for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 06'
