DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI This is a must own for ANY Dragon Ball Z/GT fan bottomline
Access to an unprecedented number of characters from DBZ/GT and the movies with the TV voiceovers to match.
The traditional clunky graphics have been smoothed over and your clothes take damage as you do so at the end of a tough fight you look like you have been in one .... nice touch.
The addition of the Z- Battlegates to match up with all the various storylines makes this the most indepth Budokai to date and is very loyal to the series. A nice bonus here was to play a storyline from the Villian's perspective in a couple of the later unlockable gates.
One of the things I am truely enjoying is the new combat system ( the new camera angle took awhile to get used to but is unoticable now) you can execute all of the special and finishing moves for each Character fairly easily without haveing to button mash or use a special mode... this in itself is a huge upgrade over Budokai3... the dragon rush feature was a disaster.
For those who like the ladder combat Ranking system you will like the one featured here. You one by one take down 100 fighters and earn points on the way up for defeating opponents, you lose point for being defeated and when your out of points your attempt at being #1 is over and you start again...you also may even get a challenge from higher ranked characters a risk because if you lose you will lose more points than usual but if you win you take the opponents ranking leapfrogging a number of opponents in the process which I felt was a nice touch.
They redid the capsule skill editing to customize characters and replaced it with a potara earing equivalent... some of which you have to fuse to unlock various characters and abilities a nice refreshing upgrade from the outdated CapsleCorp Zinie purchases.
Needless to say this is a must own for any Dragonball fan and you will have a blast exporing the Z-battle gates and the new interactive environments.. is the game perfect ? No but it is the best in the series so far
