This is by far the best Dragonball Z game ever, it takes a long time to get use to, but once you do you will be amazed
They changed the games engine completly so it does not fill like the previous games, because thats what origanly put me of buying the game cause each time you buy a budokai game it plays like the previous one but with a few new characters, but this one does somthing complely new. I admit at first i thought they should of kept it 2d because i couldn't get the hang of the controls i did not know what i was doing i atually got fed up of it by the 5th go but by my 10th go i got the hang of the controls and i really started enjoying the game.
The good thing about the new 3d enginne is that you can re-inact all the famous scenes from the dragonball series, weather its hiding behind a rock like android 18 done in cell saga, or fighting under water like goku done in frieza's saga.
the thing i was amazed with the most is the emence story line in DB B4 they keep the story line almost excactly the same as the series, no more flying around for ages poinlessly like you done in DB B3 you go straight into the action and theres so much cut scenes but the cut scences are atually fun to watch they follow the series word from word...
Another great thing about the story mode is they continue where the dragonball z series left off...almost making completly new episodes, like in one point half way through the game you have to play as bardock and you have to change the future by killing frieza and you get to see what would of happend if Freiza never killed all the sayains.
it also shows you what would of happend if freiza killed goku.
The story is atually hard this time im atually currently stuck on it somtimes they make certain missions impossible to do, mostly the ones when you just have to survive the time limit.
The two player is also great but could do with some inprovements i don't think the split screen system works to well since as you always lose where your oponent is... and you can win by doing the same move repetavily,
Another great improvement they done they chucked out the capsule shop and replaced a new way of getting items, you now have to fuse capsules together to make new ones, for example if you wanted vegeta's alternative costume with the sayain armour and scouter, you would fuse vegeta and scouter capsule together this system works great no more waiting ages and ages for one capsule to appear in the shop.
There where some things they done wrong in the game that im sure they will fix it in the next installment they missed out quite a few characters such as Ubb and shenron. but they added ozauro!!! i thought they would never add him as a playable character.

Dragonball Z budokai 4 is a great game, a whole new dragonabll z experience with lots of new features, one of the first dragonball z games you don't have to be a hardcore fan to enjoy... i recommend anyone whos into fighting games or the dragonball z series to go out and buy it today! but if your into 2d fighters this ones a miss, and don't expect somthing the same as budokai 3......
