Big-time flop. This coming from a DBZ fan.

User Rating: 5.6 | Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi PS2
Yet another DBZ game from Atari. This time, they decided to drop Dimps. Bad move. People claim Tenkaichi is supposed to represent the anime. Well, who cares? If you're going to be like that, then you're better off watching the anime itself. This game should've had a real fighting engine, one that's decent (Budokai 3). Tenkaichi may have almost every DBZ characters in existence, but what's the use? There's only 4 different movesets; otherwise, they ALL play the same. The fighting engine in Tenkaichi is HORRIBLE. It's always punch-punch-punch-punch-guard. Rinse and repeat. This game will become repetitive after the first few battles. They didn't mess up too bad on the graphics (character-wise) but alot of work could've been done to the attacks. Terrible. Also, what's up with the characters' mouths when they talk? That is a sign of laziness. Look at Budokai 3: When the characters talk, their whole heads move as a human's would. The sound sucks in Tenkaichi, as well. Every level sounds the same, all the attacks sound the same, the voiceovers are plain crappy or even omitted. (Gogeta hardly says anything when doing Big Bang Kamehameha!) Maybe Tenkaichi IS designed to represent the anime. But why bother with that? It is supposed to be a video game... Nevertheless, there will be fanboys who will defend Tenkaichi. However, I am not one of them.
