Like a pretty girl with a bad attitude, it looks impressive at first, but tends towards disappointing as you go thru it

Having played all the DBZ Budokai releases before this, I was expecting a high impact and graphic follow-up to budokai 3, which was extremely impressive. I first played tenkaichi at a friend's and was impressed with the 3-D and free roaming environment, but upon playing the game, I was shocked to find out tht the fighting operations were completely different from other budokai titles. A bit happy though, as it presented a much more challenging system to master. After buying it and working through the tutorials, (which I have to say were quite poor because you have to read through it and then go to practice mode to try out wht you've learned, unlike the try-as-you-go tutorials in budokai 3), I realised tht the gamplay becomes much more simplistic than the intial complexity would have made you thought. All aspect of the gameplay are covered in the gamespot's review, but wht disappointed me the most was tht the super finishing moves have been degraded to a boring and dull display of wht they were in budokai 3 (e.g. goku's instant transimssion kamehameha looks less than a regular kamehameha) and this completely kills the explosiveness tht the moves had in budokai 3. Another disappointing aspect is the teleportation. I believe after budokai 2, DBZ and the game fans would have been more than impressed with the telepotation and counters in budoaki 3, but here, they've re-made it into a less impressive and generally ineffective teleportation which is a somewhat failed attempt at an improvent.

Generally the game is good but falls quite short of general expcetation.
