Dragonball z budokai has an awesome idea, but it's put together really messy. The games moves seem so outrageously long, no average person could ever remember the moves that are given. Also your not able to go into the move list, unless your in practice mode, you should be able to do it at least in story mode, if nothing else. Another fault this game has to other fighting one on one games, is responsive controls and the way it wants to incorporate DBZ factors into a very stripped down game. For example when you are trying to fly you can't fly unless someone uppercuts you, if you want to attack really fast, you have to do things at the same time, if your just the slightest off, then you can't perform the eye candy move. Things like this makes the average player very frustrated. The sound effects are fairly well done, the graphics on the other seem very blocky. Gameplay is smooth, but the cinamatics could have been so much more. When you watch the show, and freeza fights goku for the first time, i was hoping to see a clip off of the TV show, at least. But instead they wanted to use their in game graphics, for super tiny scene they deliver. So if you are a DBZ fan, this game really won't make you enjoy the show anymore then you already do, but if your looking for a fighting game, honestly i wouldn't suggest this DBZ game.
