"Just as fun as Budokai 3!"
User Rating: 8.4 | Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai PSP
Having a portable Budokai is freakin' awesome! The game play is straight forward, controls are simple and easy to control. The graphics are exactly like the PS2 Budokai's, with the cool cel shade design. A cool thing that Atari added is the ability to switch to the Japanese voices, so you can hear the cool high pitched voices of the Japanese voice actors. The one problem is that the only voice overs are the battle cries when your fighting and a little intro and ending for each character. The main story mode in ths game is Dragon Road which puts you against friends or enemies of the Z fighters. In Dragon Road you arn't just one person for the whole story, you switch between character's either good or bad as you progress. When you get towards the end of Dragon Road the computers get really fierce. You better know your stuff in order to defeat them with a Z rank! The story for Dragon Road comes from the upcoming movie "Fusion Reborn". There is also a traditional arcade style fighting mode for all the people who are used to regular fighting game rules. Two more modes are also available. The first is a survival mode where you fight as many rounds as you can until you die. The second mode is a timed course battle where you face a certain amount of enemies to see how fast you can beat um. Another unique feature is the funky card editing system where you can edit your personal battle card to swap and trade with friends. I have to say this is a very solid game that any DBZ fan should own. So what'cha waitin' for if your a true DBZ fan you'll love it, if not there still might be enough for any fighting game fan to like here. So go out and buy it now it' s damn good fun for you on the go.
