WEll im doing it, the review for dragon quest 8. I had really bad hopes when i strted this game, i tought that the gamespot review was reallt giving it too much. Well i was wrong obviously and they were right (again?). Dragon quest 8 is really a pretty simple rpg. You gain level which makes you stronger, you learn new spells by gaining levels or by attibutin enough skill points into some magic-oriented weapons such as staves. Each caracter has his predefined choice of weapons which i loathe. I would have prefer weilding an axe with my hero but oh well. over the course of the game you gain the ability to combine two items to make some of the stronger ones ( like two basic herbs for a stronger one) and the possibilities seems huge. Graphics are jsut simply amazin, cell-shading is really awesome and that turns out great. The areas outside towns are really open and you can really have the feeling of exploring much like zelda but with random battles. The sound also is just awesome with some pretty good orchestral songs which are really great from towns to dungeons to battles. Dungeons are...well mabye a little to easy and quick to do but mabye it's just me.
So a great game easy going and really worth buying. it also comes with the demo of FF12 for those who cant wait! ^_^
