Lose yourself in this amazing world.

Having played and enjoyed Dragon Warriors 1-4 for the NES I went into this game with an obvious sense of hope and nostalgia for the latest installment. This game lived up to that hope and them some, and the nostalgia was brilliant.

It's only flaw that I could see was simply that many gamers nowadays may find this game to be a bit slow-paced, and may find level-grinding (a staple of olden days RPGs) to be a bit tedious.

The excitement in this game comes not only from fighting monsters but reaching that next location. The graphics were done so well that when one looks upon a distant mountain or plain you want to go to it...and then you can. Almost all areas are explorable (save some mountain peaks) and exploring is rewarded with the occasional treasure chest scattered across the world map (very nice).

This game earned a 10 out of 10 from me, as it is the perfect console role-playing game. I await anxiously Dragon Quest IX for DS with these same hopes.
