Solid RPG, based in a popular pen&paper game in a full of lore world. Worth your time.

User Rating: 8 | Drakensang: The Dark Eye PC
The Dark Eye setting is not new in the PC games, the older would remember the Realms of Arkania series. The new game from Radon Labs is called Drakensang and comes from Germany. The good about been a pen&paper based game, is the lore and the fact that all things are placed in a good point in the world. The place this adventure takes place is huge, but you visit specific areas from the map. This keeps the game at the scenario line and its linearity is faithful to the pen&paper storydriven feeling. Don't worry, it offers a fair amount of sidequest, and aside your "base city of operations" and your home you don't re-visit any previous completed area.
Solid RPG, with an acceptable story/plot and enough sidequests to keep one busy for about 30-40 hours. The "low-magic" world of the Dark Eye P&P setting is a nice change from action/RPG games where you don't know what to do with all those "+5 BMF" swords. You can simply finish the game holding a weapon you found in the first 2 hours (ok not exactly but you got the idea ...). The 4 member party is easy to handle and the AI works good without surprises (either good or bad).
I didn't like the approach on thieving and the corresponding skills but its difficult to do in any game without break it, so probably is as good as it gets. That makes thieves good only at unlocking chests for treassure (if you don't die from traps there's no reason to take so much time search for them) and move silently/stealth is so so so slow!
Unfortunately even if the game is in shelves (in Germany) from last summer, it suffers from some bugs and it CTD in times. Graphics is nothing special but they get the job done without fuss.

A good and pleasant to play, but easy game. Worth its money.
