Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

I love this game.

I love this game. It's one of the best experiences I've had gaming/being told a story/being entertained whilst looking at a screen. It brought up emotions, had me empathizing with the main characters in a way that I think maybe no other game has, and gave me that oh so good feeling of being immersed in something grand and esoteric and playfully meaningful. This game blew me away.

It’s an adventure game, and for me that means it should tell a good story, get me thinking with some good puzzles, and immerse me it the game world. In these aspects this game excels, more so than almost all of the other adventure games I’ve played. As for the negatives, the fighting engine needs improvement (but there isn’t much fighting, so it’s all good). That’s it for the negatives.

Creative, fun, absorbing, sometimes gorgeous, great characters - I can’t recommend Dreamfall enough. Play it if you like to get sucked into games.
