A dark Gritty Cyberpunk Adventure with a alluring Gothic narrative.

User Rating: 9.5 | DreamWeb PC
Most people don't remember DreamWeb, in fact, I bet you, NO ONE on this board won't remember DreamWeb, which an absolute shame, because this old Adventure game is a memorable super dark Cyberpunk thriller.

Taking it's future cues from Blade Runner and melding them with William Gibson's Neuromancer, plus adding a Gothic dash of the supernatural, DreamWeb tells the story of Ryan, an average guy, who is plagued by vivid nightmares about Keepers and the dreamweb. Seven important figures in the country threaten the DreamWebs exsitence by wanting to take the power into their own hands and Ryan is the only one who can stop them. By any means necessary.

Keeping these thoughts from his girlfriend Eden, he descends more and more into madness and begins his torturous journey through the futuristic landscapes to find and kill the seven perpetrators.

This game is a classic, and the story is amazingly good still to this day, you never really know if Ryan is a savior and a lunatic right up to the end of the game, and the whole story rattles along in a dark and twisted fashion rarely seen in games even to this day.

The only downside is that the game is insanely hard to come by in working form, which is another shame, maybe one day GOG.com could get this up and running as it would be a day one instant buy.

If you like Cyberpunk, William Gibson or Blade Runner, this will be the game for you. A classic.
