Face it- Driv3r is a disaster through and through
The Bad: Atrocious vehicle and on foot control; Terrible, bland missions; Poor story line; The a.i in the game is sloppy; Can't fire weapons in your car.
Driv3r is not a GTA clone, because if it was, it would do a lot better job integrating mechanics for a "get out of the car and go on foot" type of game. Driv3r's technical issues bog down the game so much, you can forget the terrible storyline and bland missions. The game puts you in the shoes of Tanner, a wheel man working undercover for the police. That aspect of the game is screwed up when you start getting missions to kill them. Well, thats the plot, exciting? Now for the technical issues. Driv3r is simply a disaster. It controls like missing 2 analog sticks from your controller. No, Driv3r's issues don't stop there. It has a array of physics problems, like you will be driving and go off of a ramp of some sorts, and your car will barrel role in the air for at least ten seconds. The a.i in the game is sloppy. If the police are on your tail, they will sometimes shoot at you, then freeze, then run away. Or they will simply ignore you. Also the game has some god awful collision detection problems. You can be speeding about 50 miles an hour, trying to catch up to someone, and hit a telephone pole and you have lost the mission, for the car is unresponsive for about 5 seconds after. So now you know it... If you are a die hare Driver series fan, check it out. If not, you are wasting your time. Don't think this is a GTA competitor at all.
