A new step for Reflections..
I'm not claming that this game is a total CLONE, no no no...
- in fact, Reflections have taken a new step forward with Parallel Lines.
Like what..? - You can mod your car, time shifts from day to night pretty nicely, cops are smarter than before, and lot of other small details that have been changed since Driv3r.
Graphics on the PS2 version have, however, been pulled down a bit on the scale, since NYC is a big place to roam around in, and the city has to look alive, doesn't it?...
Well, I have no probs with having less graphics, as long as the game works - Which it does btw... :)
Gameplay is where it should be, and maybe even more..
Each car responds as their real-life counterpart would (In my opinion).
And, the free-roam (on foot) feels really good too. Once you begin playing, it might feel a bit stiff, but in a matter of minutes, you'll dig the controls =)
How about depth?.... This game is good and variable. Lots to do, and since Reflections have put a lot of work in the driving part, you can't get bored, driving around in NYC. You can, if you feel like it, drive around like a tourist and just enjoy the scenery =)
When the game begins, of course you have to do the very first missions, before you can start your free-roaming, on-foot walking, driving "criminal"-career, making NYC an unsafe place for its inhabitants... =)
The few missions at first are easy to pull of, and first time rookie gamers wont have problems getting started, so,
all in all, I'd say this is a leap forward, not a big one,
but surely in the right direction :)
