If you don't mind a bit of a silly storyline, there is plenty of fun to be had with this game!
You progress through the game by completing a few sub-missions to unlock the next main story mission. This intertwines with your own desire to complete the little side tasks which unlock cars and earn you money. Money allows you to buy nicer cars and recieve upgrades.
The Good
• Driver San Francisco has done homage to all of the 80's style police show's with the fast cars doing massive drifts. It is done very well.
• There are "Last Time on Driver..." videos to help keep you up to date with the story and they all reinforce that classic police show style.
• The voice acting is brilliant and the characters all have distinct and likeable personalities. Even taking over a random car can have some funny dialogue involved.
• The use of real cars in game makes it feel more special and more fun.
The Bad
• The side missions start to become a bit repetitive but you have to do them to unlock the next story mission.
• Other than that there isn't much else to do other than more driving. The world is detailed but quite bland.
• It's hard to keep track of what side tasks you have done.
• Driving controls feel a bit clunky at the start and sometimes you feel a bit cheated.
I am giving this game an 8/10. This game has a lot of funny moments with a really cool storyline. However! This game is really only for those with an open mind who don't mind the silliness. If you want a gritty dark storyline, driver isn't for you. If you want something that is fun and light hearted it is! Personally I like the story and think it is well told and switching cars around the city is fun.
