It would have been better if it didn't have "san Francisco" in the name.

The game starts with an interesting premise, and while repetitive, it has its charming moments. Driving is fun and rewarding, but you're somewhat let down by the graphic engine that does only a mediocre job in conveying the sense of speed and that honestly is more 2008 than 2011. But the main gripe is really in the setting. You cannot create a generic city, add two or three landmarks and call it San Francisco. The structure of it is wrong in so many levels that's almost surprising. Especially considering the "possibilities" the real San Francisco offers to a driving game. The one in the game is a boring collection of wide 2 to 4 lane streets and none of the potential fun. But the really weird thing is the arbitrary choices: the marina district that looks like Venice Beach, Pacific heights with parking lots and anonymous office blocks, and the main city street (which in reality has really 4 lanes) being reduced as a secondary road. It's really like these guys never went there, and didn't even bothered to check google maps. Seriously, it would be ok (but still boring) for a game set in a fictional city and released in 2008, but for one with San Francisco in the name and out in September 2011 is quite bad.
To summarize: it has some moments here and there and the concept is intriguing, but it's too repetitive and the setting is a real let-down. Maybe it's the whole Driver formula that has become obsolete, or maybe the budget was really low. Whatever the reason, it doesn't hold up to its name.
