Dropzone is a defender clone ... BUT is just not a clone, a very addictive and challenging game.

When I 1st read about this game I was playing defender clones ( datastorm, repton (the earliest one), protector) to death and thought, yeah just another clone. But this had some changes which would work and work well.
Its just like defender where you watch your radar for the different enemies and stop the landers from taking your men. But the men were little blue rolling balls that had to be taken back to a central point where they would be safe but didn't stop the landers from raiding the base. Once all the men were back you moved onto the next screen. Music only on the main screen and the gameplay had sound effects, the graphics were well drawn and the gameplay, well you could just stop at level 45, you just had to keep playing until you lost all your men.
Many hours was spent on the little beauty and would recommend to any defender player who still has a c64 laying around or one of the various emulators.
