Duke Nukem Never!

Having played the original when it was released (after a pricy hardware upgrade to get it to run), I had the chance to try out the new Duke Nukem game. You would think that given the history of the game, 10 years of waiting, they would have put in the effort to make it a knock out. They did not. Sub-par graphics, sound and gameplay make this a weekend rental you'll soon forget.

Riding on the boobs, beers and farts jokes can only get you so far even with that demographic and all gamers expect excellence. Did the guys at the studio not play recent titles like Black Ops, MW2, Crysis 2 to know what they were up against?

I'm really surprised how a studio can forge ahead with a product they know won't stack up against the competition. I'm far more impressed with the guys at Id who just pushed out Rage because they wanted to make it better. The Duke deserved a better fate than this.
