I'd liked to start by saying that Duke Nukem Forever is not the greatest game of all time and is not by any means a flawless game. But, surprisingly enough, even after all the bad reviews I've read and the bad comments I heard regarding the game by my friends, I decided to give this game a try and I actually didn't hate it whatsoever.
Graphics-wise, the visuals in this game are not groundbreaking. However, it doesn't have "horrible graphics" as you might have heard in a whole lot of reviews. Yes, It does indeed have outdated graphics but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Personally, it brings all my childhood memories back to life, when I first played Dukem Nukem 3D on windows 98. It kind of feels like an old classic FPS such as Quake and Unreal Tournament.
Gameplay mechanics in Duke Nukem Forever is as straightforward as it gets so there's nothing in the way of complex game mechanics to be found. Despite the lack of originality with DNF's gameplay, the game kept me entertain with all the irrationality and humor that we find throughout the game.
The story of the game is nothing special, extraterrestrial life invades earth and guess what? - Duke has to save the world from total destruction
The A.I resembles a bit to Crysis in the sense that foes can be quite stupid from times to times. Nevertheless, boss fights are significantly challenging and harder than I expected.
The online part isn't even worth mentioning. Do not buy this game thinking you'll get an online experience similar to COD.
Overall, Duke Nukem Forever is just plain fun. Hail to the king baby!!!!
