Decent action RPG. Short game. Unvaried hacking and slashing gets tiring. Really cool armor and weapons upgrades
What made this game worth playing through with all three characters (Warrior, Rogue, and Mage) was the armor and weapons upgrade system. Enemies in this game are constantly dropping weapons upon being slain, so picking up sifting through the best sword or boots adds a good amount of variation to the button mashing (or should I say "screen tapping"). You also get to see the varied weapons and armor that you equip actually on your character which is a nice touch and looks like the developers had fun with it. So the hooded rag armor is completely different color with completely different polygons, than the golden armor and the robe. It was really nice touch and gave each character a great deal of personality.
The controls are a bit unresponsive, but functional. I played through with the V-pad opposed to the Touch scheme. The whole touch the enemy to attack idea is a smart way to use the touch screen, but took too much effort for me to get used to. Plus I had to block the whole screen just to get to a treasure chest laying in the corner of a room leaving me open to get attacked.
All in all this is your basic run of the mill hack 'n slash RPG with good atmosphere, a fun innovative, and all around cool looking weapons and armor system. I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy this app, but for $4.99 its not a bad dungeon crawling experience.
