Dungeon Siege III

Make no mistake-its not a console port-but you'll still feel cheated when playing this game on your PC ! Rotten Camera.

I've been an avid follower of Dungeon Siege games- I've played both the first and second installments more than thrice each.
Then came Uwe Boll and his terrible terrible movie - which I think began the downfall of this promising franchise.

Dungeon Siege 3 seems to have put the final nail in the coffin!!

People reviewing this game here have more or less nailed it~~ the consensus is more or less unanimous

1) Visuals -After playing games like Assassin's Creed and Two Worlds 2 - to fall to such levels of lousy visuals as in DS3- the words "we did this for the Consoles" scream at you while playing the game!!
The PC seems to be the unwanted child the developers didnt care about !! The visuals are downright gaudy!! The effects are so mediocre - that constantly while playing I started straying - they just dont hold the appeal. The textures are lousy - the entire feel of the game feels dated!!

2) Story - Meh !! Can't say it more - the entire storyline seems so short and rushed - I yawned my way through the conversations!! The characters are one dimensional - their personalities are wafer thin. Did Uwe Boll help with the storyline?

3) Camera : The BIGGEST gripe - what a lousy rotten implementation. You have just two modes - both seem to cover hardly any area around the characters - in this day and age - to give such a clunky camera is criminal!!! All the time, I felt like straining my neck to somehow see beyond the range of the characters - then realize the absurdity of what i was doing!!
How did they manage to go back to the 90s - the dark ages of cameras?

4) Levelling up - Hello? Give me chance to store my abilities and talents !! Whats this new stance of forcing a player to level up without being given a choice? The developers tried to be different from other games - and messed it up completelly!!
Haven't you heard a saying : IF it ain't broken - dont fix it??


Conclusion : This game is NOT worth your 50$!! Had they released this rotten game for 19.99$ - it might have been worth it!!
You're paying the price of a mercedes to get a clunker!!!

  There are games that are reinvented with new formulas and made better for it. Dungeon Siege III is NOT ONE OF THEM.
