Dungeon Siege: LoA was a more interesting and satisfying game to play, perhaps because I had the previous experience of Dungeon Siege. The quests were interesting, and the pack animal options were good, particularly since one was a fighter type. However, having a virtually uncontrollable animal to worry about in a major battle sequence became something of a hassle. I worried all the time about keeping the pack animal alive, at the cost of my other party members! The use of backpacks made having a pack animal redundant, so it was more sensible to add another fighter in place of a pack animal. I found fighting the Hassat cat people a morally disturbing issue. I'm sure a dog lover would feel similarly if dogs were protrayed as advanced, but hostile species. The game was thoroughly engrossing, however, and the scenery was great. The final Big Boss was tough, but less so than the previous Big Boss in DS. I'm really anticipating a great game in Dungeon Siege II.
