Some substantial flaws: it feels like half of a potentially great game.

After some time playing, it becomes clear this is a more complex version of Final Fantasy Tactics: there are levels to earn, different professions, bonus items that upgrade stats, and the whole thing is turn-based combat. I actually liked this more than either of the FFTactics games. They got too easy mid-way through the game. In Dynasty Tactics, the game is always moderately difficult. If you dont use multiple combos, you wont get more that halfway thru any of the 3 lengthy campaigns. So why the average score? The heroes are all pretty much the same and the combat maps start to look the same after a few hours of play. There are no castles on the combat maps, just forest, grass, rivers, and hills. That's it. So the fun of the game has to rest on the combo-based combat. The trouble there is that there are only about 20 different types of combos (unless you want to include the Pit2 combo as different from Pit1, and so on). There just isn't enough variety in the things that matter in a combat-based game. Heroes III for the PC does all of this better, and that game had a toneof magic to add to the combat mix. Dynasty Tactics 2 feels like 3/4 of a great game. Where are the castle sieges?
