I never thought killing thousands of Chinese could be fun...

Dynasty Warriors 2 is the second game in the Dynasty Warriors series (obviously), the first in the series on the PS2, and the first in the series to be an action game. The orginal, which was on PS1, was just a normal fighting game. DW2, however, puts you in the middle of war. You take the role of one (out of about 30) warriors, run through levels with bodyguards (who you can build up ranks for and such) and hack 'n' slash your way through hundreds, sometimes thousands of enemies. The levels are very simplistic. Nothing special here. The graphics were really good for bak in the day. Looked like a polished arcade game. The sound was alright. The repeatative "HIYA!"s and mundayne, uninspired rock ballad was monotonous though. Bleh. But overall, trying to build up your character's stats, and other character's stats takes a while, and the gameplay is enough to keep you playing for hours. However, the lack of any multiplaer what-so-ever takes away from enjoying this game with a friend. Whether it be co-op or versus would be nice, but it's not there.

Overall:
This game is fun and I thought it was worth the purchase. However, once you get bored of it, you might turn it back on once a year.
