One of my favorite games when I feel like taking on hundreds to thousands of soldiers and winning.

This is one very fun game when it comes to self-esteem boosters. The basic concepts are to take one warrior kill every enemy in sight and, while doing that, collect the best of weapons and items so that you can kill enemies faster, easier, or even prettier.

There are three basic attacks to use in this game and the most often used one is square as it is the minor attack and triangle is the charge attack and takes a little longer to execute. The special button is circle which allows you to use your Musou attack which is like a little "dance of destruction." Maybe "dance" is the wrong word but "destruction" or "death" definitely work.

Each battle is separated into a different stage. In "Musou" mode you basically jump into the middle of a stage and kill as much as you want or as much as time permits before completing the objective which is usually defeating the commander or commanders. After that you get a victory screen and then you get sent to the next stage where you repeat the same steps.

The visuals are not the prettiest things but they are still pretty good looking. I personally prefer the look of this Dynasty Warriors to the others. Nice and simple.

The sound of this game is pretty good. I like the music; it gets the player really pumped up. The voice acting is some of the worst I've ever heard but it's forgivable as it gives the player the opportunity to listen to some of their own music. Personally I view this as a good thing. It's like being given the opportunity to multi-task. Go ahead- pop in a CD you haven't listened to in awhile. If you don't have any then it's no big loss unless you don't like rock music (it might be considered hard rock- I'm not sure) because that's all that this game offers.

I've replayed this game so many times to max out every character's stats and get all their fourth and fifth weapons that I've easily gone over 100 hours. This game can be two-player if you desire and the two-player aspect is what really makes this game awesome and fun. It's also what makes the fourth and fifth weapons more possible.

I suppose I should cover what the expansion aspect covers. It basically gives a bunch of new items and unique fifth weapons and the Musou campaigns of the non-aligned warriors such as Meng Huo and the "legendary" Lu Bu. There are also new two-player games and new challenges, only this time they there are items as prizes for the challenges.

Overall this a very nice game and might even be worth buying on its own at the price it's at even though there are only seven or so Musou campaigns. It is a true paramount of the belief that content matters more than the presentation.
