Dynasty Warriors V: Indeed Koei released another Dynasty Warriors game. Dynasty Warriors is probably one of Koei's most successful titles. So is it a hit or a miss. Is it really running out of steam? I will answer this and more in my review. For one anybody who has ever played a Dynasty Warriors game will know what to expect. Also anybody who has played a Dynasty Warriors Game thoroughly will also notice a lot of the changes made in this game. Also anyone who has not tried a Dynasty Warriors game this is a great one to start with. Dynasty Warriors 5 has the most selectable characters ever in series history. Each person with a different combos. Each character is also not exactly like they were in the last game so that should add more gameplay. Each person has their own musou mode in this game which is nice. Each Musou mode can take over an hour to complete depending on how you play them. in which having 48 people to do that with could equal lots of gameplay time :D. Also each person has a unique weapon him or her can acquire by fulfilling certain requirements in each level Set aside from unique weapons I will explain 1st 2nd and 3rd weapons. In Dynasty Warriors 4 you leveled your weapon up. Well Dynasty Warriors 5 is like Dynasty Warriors 3 in which you pick weapon boxes up after slaying a general or breaking a box, the weapon are random and have random stats on them. Some weapons are heavy *which makes you swing slow* Some weapons are Light *which makes you swing extra fast * It is a pretty cool edition to the weapons I think. Some Weapons also have evolution attacks to them which will add an extra 3 hits to your combo. Now talking about equipment items. Meaning Items you equip before the fight. These Items can make you much stronger have more life more defence a longer Musou bar and also make you run faster. Field Items which are very important you get on the battlefield. When you defeat certain soldiers they will leave some field items, some leave meat buns some leave meat *both of which are health* Generals drop field items too but these improve your stats the generals that don't leave a weapon or an Item will drop a sword or a shield There is Sword +1 +2 +4, and +8 same thing applies with the shield. There are now 2 types of Dim Sum now: Dim Sum and Large Dim Sum, The large is double the effect of the original same thing applies with Musou Wine which permanently increases your musou bar. Lets talk about musous shall we..for the most part they are all the same which is fine by me because sometimes change can be bad :P, but the True Musous are different, each person's True Musou differs in the final hit than their original musou, it usually ends in a big bang. There are also Musou Rages now, which is a neat feature, along the battlefield you will find a Musou Rage Token, you save this token for whenever you fight someone strong or if you just want to use it, it basically enhances all of your stats *just temporary* and also your attack speed and then you get also get your true musou during musou rage too. Some Enemy Generals can use this against you too, Like Lu Bu -_-. If you play 2 player or have a bodyguard you can also perform double musous which are very powerful. There is a New Bodyguard system now too, instead of taking 8 bodyguards with you who do basically nothing, you get one very good bodyguard which can do musous and actually fight 0_0. Bodyguards can perform double musou attacks with you also just stand next to them and if you see lightning connecting the two of ya and there is a big crowd hit 'O' ^_^. Bodyguards can learn various skills, Skills that might make your army's morale harder to decrease, or skills that make your body guard heal when he/she is in trouble, and much more. This game like all the others, has Musou Mode, Free Mode, and challenge mode. They did take out vs mode for the sake of all the new stuff. Musou mode like mentioned earlier is the story modes for each character, Free Mode you can redo all battles with any one of the characters that you want, and challenge mode presents players with a series of quick battles that have set parameters, suck as Time attack, bridge melee, rampage, and Sudden Death, you will be given a code afterwords and you can see just how good or bad you did at Koei's website :).
