i dont know whether to hate it or love it.
Yes, I love the next-gen experience of DW
Yes, I love the character models
But honestly, the renbu system doesnt do this game justice. Its a great system all in all, but the combos dont get groundbreaking until you reach infinite renbu. Its great to continuously be able to attack but it can get repetitive more than the charge system.
I guess i came into this game ready to be blown away from the entire revamp, watching the gameplay videos of zhao yun handing an army their own @$$ on a silver platter, but i was tricked. What i expected was more groundbreaking that what it actually came to be, i wanted explosions in the crowd, you versus an entire army, linking all your combos together and the bigger the link the bigger the outcome, you know, like the intro video of dynasty warriors 5.
The draw distance for armies is poor, within 5 feet of the camera, the characters become really 5 sided, and although it isnt THAT noticeable, i just expected a better draw distance, considering its next-gen.
one good improvement is the maps. They feel like actual battlegrounds instead of closed in fields. Some maps shouldnt of been re-done, and others shouldnt have been stripped.
All in all, this game is okay, its not good, its not bad. I guess i might have to wait a little longer for a "SW: Force Unleased" type Dynasty Warrior game where the hero's moves are buffed up and the crowds are bigger.
