First of all everyone knows what kind of game Dynasty Warriors is... It's a hack-and-slash game so can this game be monotonous? Yes all games of this genre have button mashing, but it can also be incredibly fun to be a general in an army for a country and kill 1000 enemies single-handedly. I played Dynasty Warriors 4 to death and I feel that the same thing is going to happen with this version. The gameplay is incredibly addictive for me and there is a ton of content/characters to unlock so it can keep you coming back for more.

My favorite addition to this game from the others is the story mode. It keeps you moving forward sometimes moving from cut scene right into a battle. The best part about it is that it makes you feel like you're actually fighting for something... To avenge fallen allies or to unite the country under a peaceful rule.

However there are some obvious, major drawbacks. The graphics are very dated and in my mind should be capable of looking much better than they are. The cut scenes look great but in actual gameplay the characters are not very well detailed the landscapes look dated and there are times when enemies pop into the screen. Also the voice acting is better than the previous games but still falls short of current games and there lines that you will be hearing over and over again. Each character only has one phrase they say after defeating an officer so expect to hear that almost ten times a battle.

So in conclusion Dynasty Warriors 7 is what is to be expected from a Dynasty Warriors game. Addictive hack-and-slash gameplay that some enjoy and some find terribly monotonous. If you are a fan of hack-and-slash games pick this up and it will keep you busy for hours and hours. If you don't like the genre stay away from this game it will waste your time

Pros
-addictive hack-and-slash gameplay, feel like a powerful warrior defeating 1000 men

-TONS of content and characters to keep you playing to unlock them all

-Story mode makes it feel like you're actually fighting for a reason and will help you pick your favorite character

-new mounts/animals other than horses and elephants

Cons
-very repetitive so if you're not a fan of the gameplay you will be bored very quickly and never come back

-voice acting is sub-par at best and there are too few lines for the battles, they should add some more variety here

-graphics are dated and there is some pop in when there are lots of characters on the screen
