a great game probably the best on the psp to date although the battle in stages breaks the fluidity i originally enjoyed
I am writing this review to try and give and honest impression of the good and the bad in this game
My first impression was brilliant until after 2 minutes I was back at the map selected where I go next.
This does grow on you and after a while you get used to it.
The reason for this is each battle is broken up into what I call stages and placed on a map you must select where you go and when as meeting an enemy officer to quick below you level up can have dire consequences.
On the levelling up you are able to do this although starting a new battle means you have to choose officers (like bodyguards).
These officers provide you with either health healing horse or elephant much like the items in previous games.
Each battle will reset you health and attack and special so you are unable to quickly run through the field.
This said I preferred the original no breaks run around and kill all enemy officers style of the other consoles.
Also the ability not to create your own character upset me as I prefer nothing more than creating a nice Shane character to help unleash some mayhem.
With the map scheme is a little less quick play than normal as you are unable to go directly to the boss and wipe him out with your built up character this is for me both a good and bad point.
This seems to be a mix of tactics and fighting and overall I have really enjoyed this game especially after unlocking Liu Bu.
In closing I will say it is so far the best tactic sword fighting game for the psp and if you are a fan of dynasty warriors or the tactics games then this is a must.
If you want no breaks endless killing then try Untold Legends.
