Feels like a PS1 game but is fun while it lasts...

This is the first dynasty warriors game I've played and I was very dissapointed.
Being a PSP gamer at the minute in comparison to other games.. this won't be one to buy even if you are a massive fan of hack n slash/stratergy games set across ancient china.

Dynasty warriors has two modes.. story mode of free mode- there isn't much difference between the two.
In story mode you play through several campaigns, in free mode you can visit all the battles you have finished.

In each campaign you start at a certain place on the map and select which map you'll fight on next to progress to the enemies main base (which when deafeted wins you the battle)

As soon as I turned on the game I noticed the graphics were poor.
Most maps distances were 'misted' and only appeared when you went into them.
Don't get me wrong- the battle animations are great, you have several ways of fighting, melee, jump attacks, special moves, middle range moves and bow attack.
I only managed to make use of my special, melee and middle range attack.. and still found it easy.

The combat looks good but can be fustrating when got wrong, you can have horses which you can attack from (this is really fun) but again fustrating if your knocked of every time your trying to get on.

Music is a kind of japanese rock- it's alright, everybody has their own taste and I reccomend checking out some sort of video footage of the game.. ;p

If you can find this game cheap and need a few days worth of hack and slash then why not.. go for it, but don't expect much more than that.
