EarthBound

This was the wierdest, most refreshing RPG that came out for the SNES. Go find a copy and play it now.

Wow. What to say about this game... When I played it, I had never played an RPG anything at all like it before. I still haven't played a game that matches its odd sense of humor and crazy happenings. A quirky storyline with quirky characters in a quirky world make for some interesting game development. Instead of magic, you have psychic powers, and the weapons set in this game ranges from baseball bats and frying pans to slingshots, yo-yo's and bazooka's. One of your characters can even pray for help in battle! The graphics are a bit of a downer in some ways, but the ridiculous, cartoony style of them works well with the story line. An excellent soundtrack brings life to the various places and situations you encounter. If you are looking for something different out of an RPG, I suggest you try this one.
