Earthbound is The Overlooked SNES classic. Its absolutely worth checking out.
The game begins when Ness, awakened by a meteorite that has plummeted near his home, whereupon he proceeds to investigate the crash site. After that, well, i don't wanna spoil much. But all i can say after that is that a bee named Buzz Buzz gives you a item that is really needed to complete the game.
You play as Ness, a young boy possessing strong psychic abilities. He is joined by three other children his age: Paula, another powerful psychic; Jeff, a mechanical genius and child prodigy; and Poo, a martial arts master with some psychic ability. You are fighting a The game's main antagonist, Giygas, an alien from a distant galaxy. And HOLY CRAP he is scary.
The graphics are lovely for SNES. The gameplay is a standard turn-based rpg, with leveling up, and buying stuff. Nothing new here. But what really stands out from Earthbound, in a great way, is the humor, its written great, with many, many hilarious moments. But also, there is some moments in the game that can be relatively touching. The music is also another great thing in the game. How? Well, some tracks are just make you to just make you wanna stop what you're doing, and listen.
Earthbound is not actually called Earthbound. Its called Mother 2. But over in USA we never got the first Mother game, how sad. A sequel was in the making for the Nintendo 64 DD, and cd-based but was never released.
Earthbound is The Overlooked SNES classic. Its absolutely worth checking out. Its funny, its fun, it has a good story. Just play it.
Now: Heres my message to Nintendo.
Nintendo, whereever you are, MAKE a new EARTHBOUND! They're many people and children, that must experience this once great franchise, and still is. Re-release this SNES classic on Virtual Console, and start a new game on WiiU. It will SELL!
