This game is the first of 2 ECW titles on video game consoles,the 2nd being "Anarchy Rulz" which had a few more features and a different type of layout,but "Hardcore Revolution" was the first to hit us from ECW.The games were based off the engine WWE left behind when they went to THQ.Nothng really had changed about the way Acclaim made their wrestling games..except for they had half the wrestlers of ECW in it and added ECW matches and tried to add the feel,but it wasn't enough.WWE obviously was moving towards where they are today with their games and ECW was left with the scraps of Acclaim.Both titles didn't really do that much for ECW or their fans except give them a chance to play as their favorite ECW wrestler for the first time ever.ECW's stay in the video game world was short and a bit bitter as neither game lived up to what ECW was all about.Some ECW stars are stillin the video games though..just in other federations...mostly WWE.You can't blame ECW for the somewhat failure of their games,Acclaim just didn't do that much different to change the way they made wrestling games.Now with both companies..Acclaim and ECW...out of business..for now...It just looks like Acclaim tried nothing to keep up with THQ and the WWE and that is the big letdown to us ECW fans.
