Now, I'm not very partial to these type of side-scrolling flying-shooter arcade games........okay maybe I am. This game reinforces that!

Einhänder pits the Earth vs. the Moon in a futuristic war. However, the Moon uses a trump card and sends a dare-devil pilot to fight the Earth's entire armada in a super-quick ship for which the game is named. Sounds cool huh? Although the game's graphics are dated (c'mon its 1998 for crip's sake!), it still provides a good solid gaming experience for people who enjoy arcade-style shooters.

Einhänder Is fast-paced, difficult, and unforgiving in a good way. You blast away at waves of enemies and try to stay alive against the overwhelming odds. However, if you're not careful, you'll find that you may die quite easily and frequently. If fate be kind you live....lets not mention the alternative though. There are three of the Einhänder ships you may choose, each with a different ability. The Einhänder ships are able to steal weapons from the earth forces and use them. There are alot of different combinations to use depending on the area and it makes for a fun and interesting mish-mash of weapons to use against the many fleets of ships that haplessly come to die before your gunfire. Boss battles are an extremely interesting part of the game, they provide a major part of the challenge as well. The designs for many are quirky and weird, yet awesome. Bosses get harder as you advance through the game and are sometimes frustrating if you aren't quick enough to react at times. Once you're through, it calms down and then kicks you back into the action.

Einhänder is a bit short however. With only so many levels, its about an afternoon's worth of play. Although, it has great re-playability as well as a few secrets and doesn't necessarily get old quick.

All in all, its a great game thats sure to please.
