I was so looking forward to this game, especially after playing some of Stardock's previous games (GC, GC2, SoaSA). But this game is simply broken. Even if you ignore the bugs, crashing and memory leaks, it is just not a finished game. Magic is all but useless and totally non-strategic. Combat is terrible (miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, hit for 5 damage, miss, miss, miss, hit for 75 damage...). The AI is broken or non-existant; enemy empires pretty much never attack (but the wandering monsters are a constant nuisance), and in combat, they sometimes run back and forth, or avoid units trying to get to one in the back, allowing you to pelt them at range. I know Stardock is great at updating and supporting their games, but it is going to take a LONG time and a LOT of work to make this into a worthwhile game.
