It has been some time since I have written a review. The past three months have been excruciating and painful in an attempt of getting my life back together and I have had almost no motivation to do anything. But I'm not here to tell a depressing story; I'm here to review one of the Itouch's first online FPS apps: Eliminate Pro. I must say that Ngmoco have done a fantastic job of bringing together a great online FPS experience. There's not much story to it, except that you all are basically testing out army and weapon equipment to send out in the real world. Though it has no real plot, it does contain some funny elements in the intro sequence; which is a nice touch. The graphics are good and so are the environments, and it is just plain fun. It keeps me coming back to play more and more. But the overall experience found in Eliminate Pro feels a lot like a test run more than a whole game. You can download the game for free, but if you have no energy left to play with in the game, you have to wait about 4 hours before playing again for credits. You can still play online, just not upgrade anything. Which really sucks because it prevents total immersion knowing as soon as this round is over you cant win more credits for another 4 hours. There is a way to get by this; by paying $2 for more energy; but this is a total ripoff because even then it only gives you enough energy for 2-3 rounds. The game is majorly buggy and playing the game without auto-fire enabled is near impossible. In order to shoot you must turn yourself with your right thumb to your opponent, take your thumb and tap the screen, and then move your thumb again if they move before you can shoot again. Auto-fire allows for you to only use your thumb for camera and moving while the game shoots for you; making the game much easier to play. Also, some connection errors have occurred, but very few to complain about. Eliminate Pro seems like such an easy game to hate, i was near ready to never play the game again after 5 minutes. But once i got the auto-fire on and got a hang of the stubborn controls; the game really came together. It takes time to truly appreciate the overall experience Eliminate Pro provides, but it is overall worth it in the end. If you are patient and love a good shooter with a lot of premise, Eliminate Pro is for you. Even if your not a fan of shooters, it's worth a look.
