A game with so much promise and excitement after the successful Matrix Reloaded film failed to impress me.
When I first bought this game and started to play it I was very impressed. The graphics where quite impressive whilst the introduction of the slow motion fighting concept was a great addition to a title synomonous with slow motion in each of the three films.
With the story being a sub plot of the Matrix Reloaded you have control of either Niobe or Ghost, who work together to help save Zion and defeat the Agents in the Matrix.
Although the game had some impressive visual feats and its combat control was easy to master, it didnt really have anything in depth. I feel Atari rushed this game to coincide with the movie and really it let itself down.
On certain levels I assumed the bad guys and Agents would at times make it hard for me to progress and make my put together a strategy to combat them whilst completing the task at hand, but they did not.
The usage of the Slow Motion made the game very easy in fights, almost too easy - whilst it added little to the rest of the games plot.
The more I played this game the more I found it boring and unoriginal, the only thing that kept it slightly enjoyable was the cut scenes in between certain levels that showed a part of the film not seen before in the actual movie.
The levels where all rather repetitive apart from the last mission where Niobe takes control of the ship (I apologise, I forgot the name of it!) and fights off the Sentinels. However this had to be the most frustrating part of the entire game with no real control over what was happening and a very dodgy camera. I did pass the mission first time, but I didnt actually do much to complete the game.
If your a Matrix geek then this game is probably going to be a good piece of memorabilia, if not then dont buy - just rent it for a week or so, its that easy you can complete it by then.
