All right, once you get going it isn't too bad. For an hour or two. Then you start realizing that the enemies aren't even remotely intelligent and serve only to wait around to be shot or charge directly at you. The graphics are both the best part and the worst part, the cutscenes are incredible, and the Merovingians chateau looks great for about half of it, but often times the backgrounds they use look like they are coming straight out of Wolf 3d. The driving physics are just about the worst I have ever seen this side of Simpsons Road Rage, and the game never quite figures out whether you should bump into something or stick your leg through it. The fighting system is deep, and fun, but you never really get to practice it on enemies that challenge it. The bosses don't require much more than repeated flying punches. Easily the best part is the FMVs which clear up a lot of stuff from the movie (although it doesn't manage to clear up why Commander Locke always sounds like the Police Chief in any number of buddy cop movies, why there is a 7 and a half minute long sex-dance sequence, and why Morpheus sounds like such a dick when he gives his speech to Zion). But the Hacking menu is fun too, kind of like a mini-version of the game Uplink. All and all it ain't terrible but it is hardly the groundbreaking "unprecedented" game we were told it would be.
