Possibly the Last of the Classic Football Games
User Rating: 10 | ESPN NFL 2K5 XBOX
This franchise had a whole lot of steam behind it when this game came out. Selling for only 20 bucks on it's release to try and compete with Madden. It sold more than previous years but still didn't conquer the football giant Madden, which only proves that the majority isn't always right! Most people say Maddens the best because they hear it from others and don't question it. Just like with Fifa, cause you should know Winning Eleven is better. I first started playing the original Dreamcast version of NFL 2K which destroyed all other football games at the time which were only on PS and N64. Later with NFL 2K2 they ported it to PS2 and XBOX then with NFL 2K3 they got to Gamecube. They never dissappointed me with the new releases. Every year the game got deeper and the conrols got tighter. It's strange to say but it's real sad now that this franchise is over with. I still play it even though it has dated rosters but the control feels so perfect to me. Hopefully, but I doubt it, another football game will come out and have the same control. They are coming out with an unlicensed football game which were the original talks after EA gained control of the NFL license. One where it would be retired players such as Elway, Young, Montana, Marino. Since they no longer belong to the NFL it is legal, of course it will be for the 360 and PS3. Well, my opinion is this franchise will never be out classed though it should be with the new consoles. Oh yeah my Colts won the Super Bowl.
