ESPN NFL Football was truely a great game. It was significantly better than Madden at the time. The gameplay and graphics were smooth, and they tackles especially looked smoother than anything seen previously. The online mode was somewhat extensive and gave the game a more lasting appeal. Unfortunately, I would no longer recommend this game, with the release of the X360 and Madden 06. This was a classic, revolutionary football game which has inspired those of today. Madden's gameplay has become dramatically smoother and it seems as though they have even taken some aspects of the game directly from ESPN Football, including the kicking system. This game is no longer a must have, but it is still a great game that was ahead of its time.
