Big on realism, small on gameplay

Okay,I admit it. I became addicted to this game. I was over at a friends house and just couldnt stop trying to beat my previous score on the super pipe. Since I never tried to play anything else in the game I decided to buy for a good, low price. I was excited about what else this game had to offer. Then after about five minutes, I had realized I had made a big mistake... Let me just say this: for all you people who are tired of all the games that dont actually follow the laws of gravity. You are just so tired of being able to do ten backflips and twenty tailgrabs in midair and still have time left over to pull off a few more backflips. This is the realistic game for you. You have to be atleast a pro to pull of a quadruple backflip in this game and it takes a lot more than luck to pull off a perfect landing. Even I admire this game for its realism, it makes it more...interesting. But everything else is just crap. In singleplayer you can choose from a few modes that are exactly alike and even I forget which one is which. So,if you choose the right mode, you are able to create a character and choose his jacket, snowboard and so on. But, I felt this was really lacking depth, when I earned money I didnt really care. Because, about the only thing I could buy was equptment for my character and I dont really want a more expensive jacket that looks exactly the same, but just from a different brand. So, right off the bat I felt there was no point in winning a race, winning a competition, or passing a goal. Well, atleast it offered entertainment, right? Actually, no 95% of this game is totally un-entertaining crap. First off, the competitions are near impossible to win, right when you think you have pulled off the best stunt ever, the other person nearly doubles your score. Atleast the goals arent that hard, but they offer no fun either. Because, usually the goals have you completing one jump, is that supposed to be fun? And when I complete the goal I get money that I spend on crap. The only fun I had against other AI opponents was the very first race. In this race I actually had a chance, but by no means was it easy. coming down the last hill I was in third place right behind the other two, but then the two opponents bumped into eachother giving me just enough time to slip by. But overall this mode was total crap. Although, I did find a few, very few, parts of this game to actually be entertaining. I had the best time on the stunt course just pulling off tricks the whole way down. And even though the multiplayer didnt offer that much, I found it incredibly fun to race a friend down the mountain or through other courses. But, the multiplayer also lacked a bit of depth, all you did was pick your character out of a few real-life characters and choose out of the few courses. The multiplayer isnt great, but it was the most entertaining part of the game (which isnt saying much). A lot of mediocre games usually have some good graphics to fall back on. This game is not one of them. Despite the games blurry graphics, I did hear some good songs, but when you come to the menu screen you might want to just mute the game. LIke I said if you like realism you might find some entertainment in this game, so give it a rent first. Although, for all you casual gamerz looking for a fun, good game, please look elsewhere.
