In the early 1980s, trucks loaded full of unsold ET cartridges were headed toward the desert in New Mexico. Where to? Just to deposite roughly over 3,000 of the cartridges in a landfill. ET is the worst video game ever created. ET could have been a better game, but it was created because of greed. Since the ET movie was so popular, an Atari employee got the idea of making a game based on it- but in a third of the time it usually takes to make a game. 90% of that time was spent on a project the guy called "The Pit". The Pit is a bunch of holes darkly colored green that would cause ET to fall deep into them and slowly rise out again if he accidently treaded across one. Not only would this cause you time, but life loss as well. ET is an all around panic game- you must find missing pieces of a phone to call your mothership or something, which is much harder than it sounds. However, if Atari made them easier to find, they would be betraying their style. That's right- you must find the phone while being persued by a surgeon and a government agent. They are pretty much a few pixels faster than you, so you have to find the phone very quickly or you'll be captured. I don't know what happens then, I was very little the last time I played the game and cut the power off every time I was captured, because I was afraid of them. The graphics of this game are probably the embarassment of every modern Atari employee. For a long time I though ET's head was actually his mouth wide open, ready to devour the doctor and FBI Agent. As for the sound- it's your classic arcade electronic farts and beeps. There's also the instant classic track everyone should remember, "Oh What Can I Do Now That I Have Been Captured By A FBI Agent/Doctor?" No, I'm not crazy, I was just being sarcastic. I don't recommend this game to anyone who has a good life and does not want to kill themselves.
