Would have been a great game on the N64.

User Rating: 7.7 | Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem GC
Honestly I don't know why this game has received such high marks. It doesn't include anything that hasn't been done better by another game. The "insanity" system, while unique, is not extreme enough to actually provide a thrill or carry the bad aspects of the game (there's nothing scary about someone turning down your volume or walking on the ceiling.) The game focuses on story at the expense of decent gameplay and yet the cutscene character models are very angular and rough looking. The fighting is sluggish and the generic slow moving skeletal enemies do not present a sense of threat. It would have been an innovative game had it been released on the N64 but on the GC it looks and feels outdated and doesn't stand up to other games of the genre. If you are looking for a real scare and thrill just go for Resident Evil 4 or if you want a good action/adventure game stick with Zelda.
